Vaginal Rejuvination with ThermiVa®
Vaginal Rejuvenation with ThermiVa
ThermiVa treatments use radiofrequency energy to gently heat tissue to rejuvenate collagen, without discomfort or downtime. Women who've had previous surgeries, including certain mesh slings, can safely be treated with ThermiVa.
ThermiVa can be performed on women of almost any age.
Childbirth and the natural aging process cause changes which may affect vaginal health. A particularly strenuous vaginal childbirth, multiple births, and the effects of menopause can cause physical changes which can rob women (and their partners) of their sense of well-being and happiness.
ThermiVa™ is a non-surgical, non-ablative vaginal rejuvenation treatment that uses radio frequency to treat women who commonly meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Are experiencing vaginal laxity or sagging after pregnancy and childbirth
- Wish to reduce vaginal dryness and loss of vaginal tone post menopause
- Want to improve urinary stress incontinence
- Any woman who would like a more youthful and refreshed appearance
- Would like to improve sensation
ThermiVa gives women a comfortable, discreet treatment option for vaginal rejuvenation that doesn’t require significant time or a recovery period. The radio frequency energy delivers therapeutic and restorative effects.
How it works
Only Females Deliver ThermiVa Treatment at The Pelvic Center.
We offer the utmost discretion for this intimate treatment. Our female medical staff administer the ThermiVa treatments. Consults, which include a full medical history, exam and evaluation are always performed by Dr. Hettiarachchi, FACS, The Pelvic Specialist. The Charlotte Center for Pelvic Health is a private office with a team of professionals working together as long as 10 years.
During the treatment, a handheld wand no bigger than your finger is used to precisely deliver healing radio frequency waves to the treatment area. No numbing or pain control is necessary. You may feel mild warmth as each area is being treated, but that sensation quickly subsides. Most sessions last from 30 to 45 minutes from start to finish.
What to Expect after ThermiVa
ThermiVa treatments are non ablative so you can expect to resume your normal routine right away after your appointment, including sexual activity. Although many women may notice some improvement following a single treatment session, a course of three treatments spaced four weeks apart is standard for the best results. At The Charlotte Center for Pelvic Health we offer a ThermiVa package that includes three treatment sessions.
In addition to tightening, the results of your feminine rejuvenation can include improvement in vaginal dryness or atrophy, urinary incontinence as well as a more youthful appearance.
There have been no reports of any discomfort with the Geneveve nor the ThermiVa treatments. Some patients have reported feeling a cool or a warm sensation during Geneveve treatment. Some patients have said that ThermiVa feels like a warm stone message.
If any patient does feel discomfort during the treatment, Dr Hettiarachchi immediately adjusts the laser settings to ensure the patient can tolerate the treatment.
Treatments have not been medically coded and therefore can not be submitted to health insurance companies. However, treatment may be covered by your FSA or HSA, Health Savings Plans. There are also many medical financing options available including interest deferred payments with monthly payments as little as $45. (include financing links here)
After your consult with Dr Hettiarachchi, the Dr will recommend a treatment plan specifically tailored to your needs. Cost is dependent on your personalized treatment plan. Female Pelvic Treatment plans start at $1200 with monthly payments as low as $45.
There is not an age limit for THERMIVA. This treatment is virtually painless. Most patients do see and feel a difference with the first treatment. This treatment helps to produce new collagen which can help with many post menopausal symptoms such as vaginal dryness, tightening and with urinary incontinence issues. It is important to contact a specialist in the field to achieve the best results. At any age, this treatment can be a success.
You should seek a physician who is board certified in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Sugery who performs the surgeries you've had and also offers the ThermiaVa (radiofrequency techology) or MonaLisa (CO2 laser). The physician should perform a thorough exam and go over your symptoms. Initial options may be lubricants or intravaginal Estrogen but if the vaginal tissue is healthy without any mesh related issues Therimva may be considered.
No, there is no affect on hormones making this a wonderful treatment for breast cancer survivors since they can't take hormones for relief of vaginal symptoms such as painful intercourse and dryness. We also have many patients who come to our practice for treatment because the hormonal creams are too expensive and messy.
